The Michelin Guide's review
The former home of collector Henry Francis du Pont de Nemours (1880-1969) occupies a green swale in the suburb of Wilmington. Built in the 1830s, the original three-storey Greek Revival structure forms the core of the current manor house. The exceptional decorative art collection is displayed throughout the 175 reconstructed rooms. The property now comprises the residence, 24ha gardens, a research library and a souvenir shop.
