Bankgasse boasts rows of splendid buildings, such as Palais Batthyány (no 2), built c 1695 in the style of Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. Also of interest are the Hungarian Embassy, housed in two palaces, Palais Trautson and Palais Strattmann-Windischgrätz (nos 4-6), and the Palais Liechtenstein at n° 9.
