The lines of this 12C abbey are based on the Cistercian Fontenay Abbey. Inside, you will notice a majestic 16C Christ on the Cross, by Claus Berg, and the tomb of Bishop Absalon behind the altar. The church had close ties with the royal family; several of its members, in particular Oluf, the son of Queen Margrethe I, were buried in various parts of the building over the course of the 14C.
