The Michelin Guide's review
At the entrance to the Church of St Barbara stands a small narthex crowned by a dome and decorated with frescoes. This is followed by a single nave with a barrel-vaulted ceiling and an apse at one end. A funerary chapel was created at a later date to the side of the church. The well-preserved frescoes (early 11C) explore the theme of Christ in glory. In the apse, Adam and Eve are depicted kneeling at Christ's feet. On the vault, Christ is portrayed crushing evil, which is symbolised by the figure of an old man in chains.
