Architect Theodore Link took inspiration from the walled city of Carcassonne in France to design his 1894 masterwork for the Terminal Railroad Association. Restored in 1985, the former rail station and its train sheds now house the Hyatt Regency hotel and a complex of restaurants, movie theaters and shops. Informational panels mounted on the balustrades throughout the complex explain its history.
