The Michelin Guide's review
St-Ulrich Castle was not only a fortress, but also a luxurious home, worthy of the counts of Ribeaupierre, the noblest family of Alsace following the demise of that of Eguisheim. Today, its impressive vestiges span the 12C to the 15C. A splendid panorama over Strengbach valley, the ruins of Girsberg castle, Ribeauvillé and the plain of Alsace unfolds from the top of the keep (64 steps).
