Outside the town of Reus is the psychiatric hospital (1897-1912) where Domènech i Montaner tried out the system of independent pavilions that he later applied to Barcelona's Hospital de Sant Pau. Blending small bricks, stucco and wrought iron, the buildings are decorated with superb floral mosaics. Only the pavilion where the wealthiest patients were treated can be visited.
