Haïda Gwaii
Michelin Guide
Well worth the diversions
Natural site
The Michelin Guide's review
Off the shore of British Colombia's northwest coast, the Haida Gwaii archipelago has some 150 islands, the main ones being Graham, to the north, and Moresby, at its southern end. Much of the site is classed as a national park reserve. This wild island ecosystem would be nothing without its inhabitants, the Haida, who, for over 12 000 years, have lived here in symbiosis with nature. They have created a strong culture, and managed to reappropriate their territory and assert their traditions. Absolutely unmissable!
