Well worth the diversions
Civil and military monument
The Michelin Guide's review
Karlova (Charles Street) heads westward, widening to form a small square. At no 3/175, the attractive façade of the building called At the Golden Well (U zlaté studně) catches the eye. The building is Renaissance-era, but its superb stucco decoration is Baroque. Opposite is At the Golden Snake (U zlatého hada), nowadays a restaurant, but in former times Prague's very first café, founded in 1713.
