The Michelin Guide's review
Balabanov House, built for Hadzhi Panayot Lampsha, dates from the early 19C. It boasts a remarkable façade and a stunning interior. The upper floor comprises fine apartments, restored to their original state. Furnished in western style (Empire, Rococo, Viennese Baroque...), they illustrate the former owner's social success. Note the magnificent carved ceilings. The residence houses a gallery of contemporary art and is the venue for musical cultural events.
