The Michelin Guide's review
On the site of Olympia, the double colonnade of the portico made it possible to place in time the palaestra, a square sports arena with 66m-long sides. The athletes, notably the wrestlers, trained in the courtyard and bathed or anointed themselves with oil in the surrounding rooms. The somewhat confused remains of a Roman villa and a Byzantine church lie beyond the palaestra.
