Opened in June 2021, the new Andersen Museum in Odense is an undeniable success. The building is a superb showcase set in a vast garden and well integrated into the rehabilitated city centre. The visit is a dreamlike, immersive experience, with two-thirds of the exhibition space below ground level in vast, sprawling rooms. The experience ends in the house where the writer was born, which is adjacent to the museum.
