Housed in a 1915 Beaux-Arts structure (McKim, Mead & White), the Minneapolis Institute of Arts is a generalist museum that covers a vast swathe of art history through five continents: arts of Africa and the Americas, arts of Asia (one of the finest collections in the country), contemporary art, decorative arts, textiles and sculpture, photos and new media, drawings and prints, and paintings.
