Gibralfaro castle
Michelin Guide
Civil and military monument
The Michelin Guide's review
Standing atop the hill looking over the town are the remains of Gibralfaro Castle, which was built in the 14C to defend the Alcazaba. The fortified passage that links the fortress to the castle also dates from the 14C. In the former gunpowder store, an exhibition charts castle life. You get a superb panoramic view over the fortress, the city and the port from the rampart walk.
