The Michelin Guide's review
One of the largest National Historic Districts on the National Register, Old Town boasts a diverse architecture, from simple wood-frame Conch houses and gingerbread-trimmed Victorians to Bahama houses and gracious Classical Revival mansions built by New England seafarers in the 19C. Local details added to the Classical Revival style include the "eyebrow" element. These roof overhangs, designed to shade the second-story windows, are thus named because they look like eyebrows.
