The Michelin Guide's review
Built in 963 under the Northern Han Dynasty, Zhenguo Temple is an example of ancient religious architecture. Its Ten Thousand Buddhas Hall is one of the three oldest wooden buildings in China. No nails were used for its construction: the framework is supported by dougong (wooden pieces) dating back to the Tang period. The hall contains a large fresco and very precious clay statues painted at the same period.
