A symbol of Nazi madness, this former V2 rocket launch pad has been turned into a Centre devoted to history and remembrance in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais. The tour starts in a railway tunnel and continues along underground galleries intended to store rockets, leading into a huge dome weighing 55,000t. Two exhibitions present German secret weapons and the life of the local population in northern France from 1940 to 1944. On display is a genuine V2 rocket.
