Moorish district, Frigiliana
Michelin Guide
Well worth the diversions
City and village
The Michelin Guide's review
The upper part of the village is occupied by the Moorish quarter, a fine example of popular Andalucian architecture where the whitewashed walls contrast with the deep blue sky and the splashes of floral colour to create an enchanting scene. The façades are often decorated with azulejos commemorating the battles between the Moors and Christians. Its steep and narrow cobbled streets wend their way through its houses, while its flights of steps lead to viewpoints overlooking the plain and the sea.
