The Michelin Guide's review
Eisleben, a small mining town in the foothills of the Harz Mountains, is where Martin Luther was born and died. The memory of the founder of the Reformation lives on in his birthplace, the house he died in, St Peter and St Paul's Church where he was baptized in 1483, St Andreas' Church with the pulpit in which he preached his last sermon, and his statue in the market place, erected in 1883.
