The Michelin Guide's review
The Crouching Tiger Temple is first and foremost an opportunity to embark on a relaxing walk by a refreshing mountain stream amid lush vegetation. Today inhabited by nuns, it was founded during the Tang dynasty and rebuilt in 1645. A stroll through the terraced buildings is enchanting and commands stunning views over courtyards and curved roofed pagodas. Huayan pagoda (1585), adorned with thousands of engravings, is the highlight of the visit.
