The Michelin Guide's review
The acropolis of Assos, crowned by its ancient citadel and the village of Behramkale, is set in the landscapes of ancestral Turkey. The temple of Athena (530 BCE), a ruined theatre, impressive ramparts (400 BCE) and other remains are a reminder of the heyday of Assos, a citadel founded in the 7C BCE by the Greeks, occupied by the Romans, then conquered by the Ottomans in 1330, before finally falling into decline.
