Place Letizia, a small square decorated with a bust of the king of Rome, lies just in front of the house where the emperor was born. Dating back to the 17C, the house has a very sober façade and is without decoration, save for the family arms. The visit to the house starts on the second floor, where four bright rooms with ceilings painted in the Italian style are paved with red tiles. On the first floor, after the room in which Napoleon was born, admire the 16m-long gallery which was the first ballroom in Ajaccio.
