Situated at the end of a cul-de-sac alongside a canal, in the shade of weeping willows, the Couple's Retreat Garden is surrounded by water on three sides. The peaceful haven of a governor and his wife, the garden is laid out in two distinct parts (east and west), symbolising a couple, and extends on either side of a central living area. The pavilion dedicated "To my love" faces a small yellow stone rockery in the centre of the eastern section.
