With its little fishing ports, coves lapped at by turquoise waters, beaches of burning sand and its airport, Skiathos is one of the country's major tourist destinations. The boom in mass tourism has, however, taken its toll: don't expect to find the traditional Greek way of life here, nor a deserted beach, at least not in high season. Skiathos will be a hit mainly with those who love the seaside, boat trips and nightlife.
