Founded in 1947, this museum houses a remarkable collection of domestic items, folk art, tools, methods of transport, furniture and works of art, all of which have been collected since 1907 by the New Yorker Electra Havemeyer Webb. Dedicated to art, history and daily life in the US, the 45-acre site on the shores of Lake Champlain is home to 37 historic buildings housing around 80 000 exhibits spanning a period of 300 years.
