The Michelin Guide's review
Built in 1670 for Colbert according to plans by architect Claude Perrault, the château was sold in 1700 and completely demolished after the Revolution. The current building was erected in 1856 by the Duke of Treviso. Today, it is home to the Musée du Domaine Départemental de Sceaux. In the magnificent grounds, don't miss the Orangerie, the Grandes Cascades fountains, the Octogone, Hanover and Aurore pavilions, the Petit Château, and above all the Grand Canal, which is as long as the Petit Canal at Versailles.
