Well worth the diversions
Civil and military monument
The Michelin Guide's review
The famous Praza da Quintana, which is an extension of Praza das Praterías, used to be a cemetery. At the foot of the cathedral is the Puerta del Perdón or Puerta Santa, a door that is only open during holy years (years when St James's Day, 25 July, falls on a Sunday). At the top of the stairs, the Casa de la Parra is a delightful Baroque building. To the south of the square is the Canon's Residence (Casa de la Canonica) with its simple, harmoniously positioned arcades.
