For centuries, it was a royal hunting ground - its roads laid out in a star shape serve as a reminder of this. Today, its attractive network of numerous marked footpaths, cycle tracks and bridle paths make it popular with outdoor enthusiasts. Children can also get up close to the forest's wild animals at the Espace Rambouillet.
