The Michelin Guide's review
Ards Peninsula is a narrow spit of land some 37km/23mi long and 5-10km 5 (3-6 miles) wide. Less than an hour's drive from Belfast, you will be treated to fine landscapes and houses, of which Mount Stewart is the undisputed highlight. The east coast, on the Irish Sea, is more unspoiled and depicted by a series of creeks and the occasional fishing port. To the west, Strangford Lough coastline skirts a shallow gulf. The southern tip is covered with moors and marshland.
