Right behind Sanbutsu-ji temple, you will find a very steep path leading into the luxurious vegetation. Kusarizaka, the last part of the path up to Monjudo temple, is the most hazardous. You will need to grab the metal chain attached to the steep cliff face to pull yourself up. After the climb, you will be rewarded by the magnificent view of the temple, perched over a precipice and supported by dozens of beams and stilts. This ingenious building is over 600 years old.
