The Michelin Guide's review
Founded in the late 14C, Kun Iam Temple is dedicated to the bodhisattva of compassion Avalokiteśvara (known as Kun Iam in Macau). Adorned with varnished statuettes, the roof is particularly striking. This temple, one of the most impressive in Macau, houses a statue of Kun Yam, the bodhisattva of mercy, adorned with pearls and dressed in the finery of Chinese brides. She is watched over by 18 arhats (disciples of Buddha). The legend of Kun Yam is depicted in the many paintings here.
