Chirk Castle was built according to the same model as Beaumaris, and was started in the same year (1925). It has been inhabited ever since. This great fortress with its beautiful State Rooms has constantly been adapted to changing needs. Chirk stands amid parkland of great beauty, but its most distinctive feature are the wrought-iron gates made at the nearby Bersham forges.
