The Michelin Guide's review
This site close to the locks is in the shape of binoculars resting on the cross-section of a polder dyke. It features several boats, including a reconstruction of the Batavia (a ship from the Dutch East Indies Company). The museum also has an exhibition on the engineering works of the Zuiderzee, the story of the struggle against rising water, the construction of dykes, and the draining of new polders. Several pavilions are dedicated to traditional sailing skills and professions.
