The road leading to the lower station of the ski lift heads off the main Kandersteg road. From the upper station, a path descends to the shores of a lake within a vast amphitheatre of cliffs and topped by the snow-capped Blümlisalp massif. On reaching the lake, walkers can choose from a range of hikes. The most energetic will want to return to Kandersteg on foot. A summer toboggan run (Rodelbahn) will appeal to thrill-seekers.
