During his journey to Huelva, Christopher Columbus stopped at the sanctuary of Our Lady of the Ribbon, outside the town at the end of the elegant Paseo del Conquero.Worthy of note are the beautiful «azulejos» by Daniel Zuloaga and a fresco portraying the Virgin. The legend relates that the Italian explorer meditated before the Virgin on his return from America in order to keep a promise. The entrance gate to the presbytery is interesting.
