The Michelin Guide's review
A counterpart to the Herrengasse on the other side of the Hauptplatz, this road ending at the ramparts was a cul-de-sac until the 14C. The oldest part of the street was dubbed Herrensack (Lords Close) from 1650, because of its many noblemen's mansions, which are still standing today. At no 16, the Palais Herberstein has a rich historical collection, while at no 18 the Palais Khuenburg houses the GrazMuseum (Municipal Museum). This is the birthplace of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, who was assassinated in Sarajevo in 1914.
