Gdansk Old Town

Well worth the diversions
City and village
The Michelin Guide's review
Opposite Podwale Staromiejskie, enter the Old Town, where paradoxically only a handful of reconstructed buildings emerge from the modernised urban fabric. However, the few that remain are more than worth the trip! Saint Catherine's Church (12C) is home to the most precise clock in the world, also admire the outline of the Great Mill and that of the graceful turret of the Town Hall. Saint Brigitte's Church, which offered sanctuary to Solidanorść during the strikes, will take you to the Monument to the Defenders of the Polish Post Office.
