The Michelin Guide's review
The rooms of the historical green vault of Dresden Palace, which takes its name from the emerald green colour of its main room, showcase the masterpieces of gold and silver plate and jewellery collected by Augustus II the Strong. Two thousand items are exhibited in nine lavishly decorated cabinets, each of which is dedicated to a gem or precious metal (amber, emerald, white silver, jewels, bronze etc). Also worth a visit is the new green vault, which houses pieces by Johann Melchior Dinglinger, the Dresden court jeweller.
