The Michelin Guide's review
The lovely formal gardens were designed in the 18C for the earls of Meath by a pupil of French landscape artist, Le Nôtre, complete with canals and water features. Despite subsequent remodelling to cater to modern tastes, the original layout can be seen in the yew hedges. The castle, entirely restored in the 19C, boasts an amazing hydraulic clock.
