The Michelin Guide's review
The Western Hills, which overlook Lake Dian and offer fine views of the lake, are dotted with temples honouring the different deities of the Taoist religion. Interesting places to visit include the Pavilion of the Three Pure Ones and the Dragon Gate, which houses the altar of the god of literature, Kuixing. More energetic visitors might like to walk to the summit, stopping at the different buildings en route; others may prefer to take the cable car. Whichever option you choose, you'll be bowled over by the beautiful scenery, despite the large numbers of tourists here.
