The Michelin Guide's review
The building housing the foundation, designed by Josep Lluís Sert (1902-83), is one of the finest examples of Mediterranean Rationalism, characterised by the opening of space, and the quest for a balance between buildings and landscapes. The foundation contains over 10 000 works by Miró (paintings, sculptures, drawings, collages etc), as well as works that pay tribute to the artist (Chillida, Saura, Duchamp, Max Ernst and Rauschenberg), the Mercury Fountain by Alexander Calder, and several sculptures by young Catalan artists.
