The Michelin Guide's review
This small village became famous thanks to its motorway service area, where you can admire the neo-Classical columns of Nîmes' Ancient theatre, rebuilt here on the plain of the River Vistre. This is all that remains of the building, which was once the counterpart to the Maison Carrée and which was destroyed by fire in 1952. The Lady of Caissargues, a curled-up skeleton of a female aged between 25 and 30, which dates from 5000 BC, is exhibited inside.
